Here are 2 great videos for you Seth. Nick Faldo has some great ideas for improving tempo while Russell has, what I thought to be, a neat explanation of why people swing from over the top.
Pre-shot routine:
Asses lie, wind, slope, weather
Select shot and target
Re-hearse the swing and visualize the shot
Pick spot 6 inches in front of ball that is in line with your target to aim clubface.
Start deep and long inhale and exhale as you walk into shot.
Take 1 more deep and long inhale and exhale as you settle into your stance and waggle tension out until you have a mentally clear image of the target.

Stay smooth with focus on visual of clubhead staying low and down through the ball
