Lesson #4

February 15th 2019

Jess, here is how to get into an ideal posture before every full swing shot. Place your hands on your thighs and start bending forward from your hip joints as you allow your knees to bend slightly. Once your fingertips reach the top of your knees then you have reached your ideal dynamic posture. The final frame is picture perfect posture with the weight in the balls of the feet.

Face on view of your swing at the start of the lesson. Notice the excessive amount of hip slide.

After establishing better posture we tested your body to see what your natural right hand grip should be. Your right hand naturally wants to be on the side of the grip favoring the top side of it. Don’t let it drift too far under the grip. Then we made some practice swings with your feet together to really feel a better rotary motion with the hips and shoulders that keeps you nice an centered over the golf ball.

Your posture and swing are coming along very nicely by the end of the lesson. Notice the better hip action which then allows your arms to stay longer and extend through the shot.

Much better pivot here with full hip and shoulder turn while staying more centered over the golf ball. Could still reduce the sliding action a bit more by keeping the legs a little stiffer throughout the pivot.

Down the line view of your swing at the start of the lesson. You can see the hips not rotating very much and the arms get short through impact.

You do a much better job rotating your hips through on these swings so your arms can stay extended out through impact. The mantra here was “clear the hips, extend”.

Posture before and after.

Better position at the top with more depth in the arms and hands which makes for a more on-plane swing.

Club head and shaft are on a much better plane coming down into the ball which starts producing straighter and farther ball flight.

Much better follow through on the right after working on clearing the hips to prevent the arms for folding early. You can see your arms much closer to your body on the left panel vs. the right.
