Lesson #1

February 23rd 2020

Yikes! While creating your 2nd lesson summary I somehow deleted the first…..so hopefully I can recreate the important stuff. Here we go!

This is a real easy and simple way to check your posture. Fingertips should be resting on the top of your knees. Your ideal posture is the 3rd frame. You can always take your right hand off the club to check your posture before a shot. Adjust accordingly.

Here is the correct right hand grip for you, after testing your body’s natural mechanics. You are a side-cover golfer which means your right hand grip should always be placed on the side of the golf club while favoring the top side rather than the underside. This will change the structure of your backswing and allow you to deliver the club more effectively through impact.

With every right hand grip comes a matching hinging technique. For a side-cover golfer, you will want to hinge the golf club in a diagonal manner (aka towards your right shoulder) in order to create the maximum amount of force and leverage in the golf swing.

Here you demonstrate the proper pre-shot routine that will increase your consistency in your setup and ensure proper alignment every time. Set the club first, then stance, and then the grip. Picking an intermediate target will help tremendously with your alignments.

This is a great practice swing example of how to practice new movements effectively. Do all new motions at this speed and rhythm in order for your brain to register anything new. This will rapidly speed up the changes you wish to make to your golf swing.
